What to Do If You’re Not Seeing Results After a Session or Two
If you’ve had one or two energy healing sessions and you’re wondering… should I be feeling more? Shouldn’t something have shifted by now?
First of all, you’re not alone. While many clients feel immediate relief or clarity after a session, others experience more subtle shifts—or results that unfold over time. Just like the body takes time to heal a physical wound, your energy body may also need space, patience, and support as it clears deep layers.
Here’s what to keep in mind if you’re not seeing results right away:
1. Healing Isn’t Always Linear
If you’re like me, you like to have everything unfold in a very predictable, step-by-step process that is only moving forward—-and at a nice, steady pace.
But unfortunately, emotional and energetic healing doesn’t follow a predictable, step-by-step path. Sometimes, things feel worse before they feel better. Emotions may surface, fatigue may show up, or you may feel more sensitive as your body integrates new energy patterns. This isn’t a sign that it isn’t working—it’s often a sign that it is.
The straight linear path you wish for, will probably look more like a curly cue, winding path, going up, down, left, and right—-but eventually it takes you towards healing. Try to stay patient and understand that the path to healing won’t look “perfect”.
2. Look for Subtle Signs of Shifts
Even if a big breakthrough hasn’t happened yet, take a moment to reflect on the past few days. Have you:
Reacted differently in a stressful situation?
Slept a bit better?
Noticed a slight lift in your mood?
Had new insights or clarity?
Felt nudged to make a positive change?
Noticed the pain is slightly less intense?
These are all signs that energy is moving, even if the final outcome isn’t visible yet.
3. Give It Time to Integrate
After a session, your body, mind, and energy field go through a recalibration process. I always recommend drinking plenty of water, resting when you can, and giving yourself space to process. Grounding is also very beneficial, even if you only stand barefoot in the grass for a minute or two. Often, clients notice results in the days or even weeks following a session—sometimes in ways they didn’t expect.
4. Let Go of the Timeline
This one’s challenging, but important. When we expect immediate transformation, it can actually slow the process down. The things that we resist and try to white-knuckle our way through, often end up causing us more stress than it otherwise would’ve needed to. Try instead to stay open, curious, and compassionate with yourself. Trust that your body knows how to heal in its own perfect timing.
5. Communicate With Your Practitioner
If you're feeling unsure, reach out. Sometimes there’s an energetic layer that’s ready to be addressed but didn’t show up in the first session or two. Each session builds on the last, and sometimes your body needs a few rounds to uncover the deeper, root-level issues.
I always email my clients for an update about a week after our session, just to check in and see how everything is going. At this time, we may determine another session would be beneficial to release deeper layers.
6. Support Your Energy Between Sessions
Here are a few ways to keep the momentum going:
Practice gratitude and positive affirmations daily
Get outside and ground with nature–even for a minute or two!
Breathe deeply and move your body
Journal what’s coming up emotionally
Do something that makes you happy to help keep your energy light
7. Celebrate the Effort You’re Making
Taking steps towards healing is an act of courage. Even booking a session is a sign that you’re choosing growth and change–especially if you’re new to the energy healing world. That alone deserves to be acknowledged. After a session, I encourage you to do something to celebrate the fact that you are taking care of yourself. Even if it’s something as simple as enjoying your favorite meal or dessert. Your subconscious notices, and it helps reinforce the belief that healing is working for you.
8. Don’t Give Up Too Soon
Healing isn’t like flipping a light switch on or off–it’s more like turning a dimmer up one session at a time. If you stop after one session, you might miss the full transformation that was just around the corner.
I always recommend giving yourself at least three sessions to allow your body to fully process and release what’s ready to go. Trust that each session is moving you forward, even if it’s not obvious yet.
Final Thought: You’re Not Doing It Wrong
There’s nothing wrong with you if results don’t come instantly. Everyone’s healing journey is different. Trust that the work is happening beneath the surface, even if you can’t see it right away. Keep showing up for yourself—and know that transformation is often closer than it seems. One day, you may have a moment where you realize the massive progress you’ve made and it just snuck up on you.
