What Ancient Chinese Medicine Teaches Us About Emotions and Illness
Have you ever noticed how your body holds onto emotions? Maybe your shoulders tense when you're overwhelmed, or your stomach churns when you're worried. Ancient Chinese Medicine has understood this connection for thousands of years—and it explains how emotions can lead to illness when left unresolved.
Your Emotions Have Energy—and a Home in the Body
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), every emotion has a natural energetic flow. When emotions are expressed and processed, they move through us. But when they're suppressed, denied, or stuck—especially over time—they begin to disrupt the body’s balance.
Each organ system in Chinese Medicine is connected to a specific emotion:
Liver – Anger, frustration, resentment
Lungs – Grief, sadness, depression
Stomach & Spleen – Worry, overthinking, anxiety
Kidneys – Fear and insecurity
Heart – Joy (or the lack of it, like deep sadness or shock)
For example, chronic frustration can affect the liver system, eventually showing up as migraines, hormonal imbalances, or digestive issues. Long-lasting grief can weaken the lungs, making someone more prone to colds, allergies, or other respiratory conditions.
Emotions as the Root of Illness
In TCM, disease is seen as an imbalance in Qi—your life force energy. When emotions get stuck, Qi doesn’t flow the way it should. Over time, this can lead to more serious imbalances in the body, including chronic illness and even cancer.
Healing Isn’t Just Physical—It’s Energetic
One of the things I love most about TCM is that it mirrors what I find in the Emotion Code and Body Code sessions I do with clients. When we identify and release trapped emotions, clients often feel lighter, clearer, and more themselves. Their bodies begin to shift. The tension eases. Energy starts flowing again.
Just like Chinese Medicine, I believe that healing isn’t about “fixing” the body—it’s about bringing it back into harmony so the body can achieve homeostasis.
How I Help
Using energy healing tools like The Emotion Code and Body Code, I help women uncover and release the emotional imbalances that may be holding them back—whether physically, mentally, or emotionally. We release stuck emotions that could be tied to the liver, lungs, or any system that’s asking for attention.
Clients often report feeling more grounded, at peace, and in tune with their bodies—and physical symptoms often start to improve, too.
You Deserve to Feel Free
If you’ve been carrying emotional weight for years—or if your body is speaking to you through symptoms—it may be time to release what no longer serves you.
Let’s clear what’s been holding you back and help your body return to the balanced, vibrant state it was designed for.
